Data Quality

A company with years of consistent service records can forecast failures; one without cannot. Curated reality is the scarce asset now.

A committee approves a model because it leads a leaderboard. Nobody in the room asked who decided what that leaderboard measures.

Google researchers asked 53 practitioners about their data. Ninety-two percent had watched a data problem surface much later in a live system.

Correct the labels in ImageNet and ResNet-18 overtakes ResNet-50. Benchmarks are treated as ground truth and almost never audited.
